3. Double-select the C: drive and then navigate to the following path: Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files.
4. In the folder, search for the files with the same name as the company file but with .ND and .TLG extensions.
5. Right-click on the .TLG extension file and select the Rename option.
6. Add the word “OLD” at the end of the filename.
7. Right-click on the .ND extension file and select the Rename option.
8. Add the word “OLD” at the end of the filename.
9. Open QuickBooks Desktop and try to open the company file.

Solution 2) Manually update QuickBooks Desktop using the administrator account

1. On the keyboard, press the Windows key to choose the Start menu.
2. Type “QuickBooks Desktop” into the search space and right-click on the version year of QuickBooks Desktop that needs to be updated.
3. Select the Run as administrator option.
4. If prompted, type in the administrator username and password of QuickBooks.
5. In QuickBooks Desktop, select the Help menu located at the top menu bar.
6. Choose the Update QuickBooks Desktop option from the drop-down list.
7. In the Options tab, select the Mark All button.
8. Go to the Update Now tab, checkmark the Reset Update checkbox, and then select the Get Updates button.
9. On the keyboard, press Alt and F4 keys altogether to close down QuickBooks Desktop.
10. Reopen QuickBooks Desktop and select the Yes button on the update installer pop-up.
